Pokemon Black / White (FAQs)

It may not break the Pokemon mold, but Black/White offers enough new content coupled with the series' classic, deep battle mechanics to make it endlessly playable. If you could only play one game for the rest of your life, this would be a wise choice.

Lots of little things have been “freshened up& in Platinum, but there aren’t any major changes or additions it’s really Diamond and Pearl again, dusted off, sprayed with some air freshener, and repackaged. But we still love it. 

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (FAQs)

Believed forgotten, a sequel to the amazing GBA RPG series is coming to the DS with graphics that maintain the high standards of its history.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (FAQs)

Though certainly not a huge shift for the series, Dragon Quest IX has a near-perfect mix of classic JRPG style and grand (for the DS) visuals to make a great portable adventure.

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (FAQs)

This is a very good little spin-off with jolly fan service that's never soiled by unpleasantness, but for a prosecutor famed for his bite, Edgeworth can sometimes lack teeth.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (FAQs)

Tokyo has been locked down as devils invade the city. You have to try your best to make it out alive with as many others as you can in this deep and addicting strategy RPG.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (FAQs)

Another touch screen-focused adventure for the hero of Hyrule, this time based around riding trains. Seriously.

This is a superb transfer of the console GTA experience, which is shocking to see on this underpowered system.

Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled (FAQs)

It's not a perfect game, but Black Sigil has a definite charm, and fans of the SNES era RPGs will probably find a lot to like.
