Phoenix Wright movie coming from the director of Ichi the Killer and Audition? Human minds are unprepared for this wonder (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney)

From: www.gamesradar.com

Game movies are usually a huge pile of rotting crusty dump. I know that. But it doesn't matter any more. Because if a recent quote is to be interpreted as I believe it is - and I'm 99.99999999notenoughninesintheworld% sure it is - then we could soon be in for one so good that it'll instantly wipe away all the bad karma from the likes of Resident Evil and Double Dragon, leaving the planet pure and fresh once again.

Because following previous rumours, said quote implies very heavily that a live-action Phoenix Wright movie is indeed coming, and it's coming from Miike Takashi, the director of extreme cinema classics such as Ichi the Killer, Audition and the Dead or Alive trilogy. Click on, and I'll explain why that's a very, very good thing. ...

Close your eyes and listen to this new cut from South African electronica outfit Goldfish. Perfectly serviceable house-bounce, right? A little Junior Senior, a bit Felix Da Housecat? Okay, now watch the clip. If that isn't the densest, most in-joke laden, lawsuit-courting-est music video you've ever seen, clearly you come from an alternate universe where retrogaming shout-outs have replaced the English language as the dominant mode of communication... ...

Organizers with the TooManyGames East Coast Gaming Expo are taking Howard Stern to task over a recent on-air segment in which the shock jock mocked the event and its radio-unfriendly attendees. In an open letter released today, TooManyGames thanked Stern for giving the expo free publicity, and challenged him to "release his inner nerd" by actually attending the video gaming event he seemed so intent on tearing down. The letter opens nicely enough, but soon enters "written with a sneer" territory... ...

Few will observe this collection of Atari-era game carts based on contemporary films and think, "what a novel idea!" (or worse, "JJ Abrams is going to get so sued!"). If it's contemporary and popular, it's inevitable that it'll get the "what if it were old?" treatment. However, as obvious jokes go, you can't fault these sleeves' fantastic attention to detail.

Graphic pranksters Penny Design whose previous work... ...

Wolfenstein 3D may have re-invigorated an unknown 8-bit franchise and introduced the world to the concept of "a shooting game, in the first person;" but while paving the road for Doom, Halo and Modern Warfare is well and good, the title was, until recently, lacking in the one area universally recognized as the sign of having Made It in the world of entertainment. We're speaking, of course, of having an officially-sanctioned Simpsons parody drawn of you; but thanks to newly-released... ...

Ubisoft launches motion picture studio (Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands)

Either Ubisoft was as unhappy with Jerry Bruckheimer's adaptation of the Prince of Persia series as the franchise's longtime devotees, or the thrill of Jake Gyllenhaal bringing Jordan Mechner's pajama-clad warrior to swarthy, inexplicably British life gave it a taste for the cinema. Either way, the company's now joining the likes of DC Comics and Electronic Arts as an entertainment company with its very own adaptation-centric Paris studio... ...

Rumor: Nintendo limiting number of 3DS Zelda: Ocarina of Time copies (The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks)

02.05.2011 0:00   12 views   0 comments
From: www.gamesradar.com

Sinobi Blog, a reputable source of leaked Japanese videogame retail information, reports that the number of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS copies that Nintendo is manufacturing is incredibly small. What's more, Nintendo is reportedly refusing to let retailers set their own order sizes, and will be shipping the game in predetermined small quantities to stores regardless of shelf space.

The move makes sense in Japan, where orders for the DS Zelda: Spirit Tracks greatly exceeded demand. By the beginning of the summer, copies of the game were marked down to less than 500 Yen (less than $5) at every major retail outlet in the country...

Our song inspiration comes from a trailer that just barely made in time for consideration. Oh, you haven't seen the Call of Duty Escalation DLC trailer?! Well, obviously we love that Rolling Stones jam, but to distinguish ourselves we chose this remix by DJ Earworm which mashes up “Gimme Shelter& with Moguai Tocadisco “Freaks.& We think you’ll find it mixes damn well with choice cuts of L.A. Noire, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Call of Juarez: The Cartel and the newly unveiled Need For Speed: The Run. See all the trailers in their entirety after the jump... ...
